What is a
Subluxation?
A subluxation may be described as a partial dislocation. When the vertebrae move out of alignment, it creates pressure or irritation to the nerves.
When the spine loses normal motion and/ or position, it affects the surrounding nerves and vertebrae around the subluxated area.
Vertebrae
wear and tear causing
pain and tenderness
Improper vertebrae function causes wear and tear on the muscles, discs, associated ligaments, and other spinal tissue.
Vertebrae nerve interference reduces body operation leading to pain, inflammation, and tenderness.
Nervous system impairment caused by subluxation typically results in reduced overall health and wellbeing.
Chiropractors
locate subluxations which
cause interference to the
nervous system
Chiropractors use gentle movements to relieve pressure caused by vertebrae interference to the nerves. These adjustments assist in correcting and improving the health of the nerves.
What Causes
Subluxations?
A subluxation impedes vertebrae function and may occur from a variety of activities.
Physical, emotional, chemical, or genetic factors may cause or indicate subluxation.
Physical
aggravating events
such as
Slips and falls, car accidents, the birthing process, poor sleeping habits, repetitive motions, sports injuries, bad postural habits, etc. may cause subluxation.
Emotional
stressful conditions
such as
Stress caused by family problems, such as divorce or death in the family, work stresses, general life problems, and not being able to manage stressful situations, could lead to spine misalignment and pain.
What Symptoms Are
Associated With Subluxations?
The subluxation can be present in your body for up to 10 years, according to research, without showing any signs or symptoms.
The symptoms listed below are indicators of long-term subluxation.
